My time as a Carver Dragon began in 2017 as a Third Grade English Language Arts Teacher and as a Parish teacher. In 2018, I added teaching Louisiana State History to my classes. My students inspire me to be at school every day. I love my school and live my life always thinking of teaching!
I became a certified teacher as an adult after raising my boys to school age. Before coming to Carver, I was teaching 4th Grade Math, Science, and Social Studies at Pickering Elementary. My job before teaching 4th grade was thoroughly enjoying teaching reading and phonemic awareness to energetic and smart 1st graders at Pitkin Elementary. Before moving to the area I taught 8th grade English in Phoenix. My most memorable teaching opportunity of all-time was living abroad in Germany and teaching 5th grade at Darmstadt Elementary, it’s also where I started my initial teaching position.
My fine young men that I will forever adore are my oldest son, Christian graduate of LaTech, and my talented son Carson who attends Northwestern State University, majoring in Music Business. I also will become a Mother-In-Law to Shelby a teacher and graduate from the University of Lafayette. in March 2022.
The loves of my life are my fiance’ Mr. Leonard and his children Louis, Alyson, Travis, Ashley, Matt, and grands: Ayla, Evie, and Brie.
My favorite four-legged friend is Twix, which just happens to be my favorite candy bar!
My favorite hobbies are: Reading, TRAVELLING, Reading, TRAVELLING, AND MORE TRAVELLING!
When I’m not teaching, you can see me reading, travelling, and exploring new things. I love to learn!
